day 17! - zhongxiaoxingsheng

Super lazy day.

Michael and I were sposed to head over to our grandmother's house to hang out with my parents (since they didn't have that many days left in Taiwan), but in our typical fashion we both took our sweet time sleeping in, getting ready, and heading out. I actually went on my own, before Michael, cuz he was still doing some stuff and I was feeling a bit bad about our tardiness.

When we all got there we decided to have lunch (starving) and I said I'd take them out to Momo's. So back we went to Momo's.

My mom enjoyed the food, but couldn't have to much since she'd gotten her medical procedure done the day before and was still feeling off. My dad.........well, he and Michael ate everything in sight. You heard me. There is no more food in Taiwan. :(

At the end of the meal they give you a tiny scoop of like...lime ice? Not sure how to describe it. It's not ice cream, cuz there's no milk. It's just like flavored crushed ice. But it's sooooo good and refreshing. My dad couldn't get enough of it. :)
After eating all that, tried walking it off a bit. Passed by this bakery with really pretty cakes. :) Actually Chinese cakes always look pretty exquisite, but most of them don't taste that great imo. Except the fruit tarts! those are awesome.
We were sposed to go do stuff afterwards. I had looked up some museums and exhibits that I would have been somewhat interested in seeing, but everyone was too full (myself included). Kinda sad though hehe. We cabbed back home and everyone fell asleep.

What can I say, we're a good lookin' family.
I fell asleep curled up at the foot of the bed (a la Jan/Michael), and had a reaaaaally good nap. The bed I have in the studio we're renting is pretty shit, and even though I pride myself in being an excellent sleeper, it's starting to take its toll on me. :| So the nap was very welcome. Was woken up by my cousin coming home and making some papaya smoothies for us. :) It was just frozen papaya blended with milk, but due to the intrinsic creamy nature of the papaya fruit.......it was just like ice cream! :D Only not sweet. Still good.

Honestly I can't really remember what we did for the rest of the night. Don't think we had dinner. Did Michael and I just go home? Hm. Anyway it was an uneventful day. :)
